"Fortunate Enough To Do What I Love"
Some may know him as 'Macho', a nickname given to him at a very young age. He's a quick-witted, man of few words. Born in Bridgeport, CT - Raised primarily on 'Carr. 511' Ponce, PR. Started his barber career at the 'Instituto De Banca y Comercio' & obtained his most recent education at the 'McDougal Technical Institute'.
Wilfredo's father brought him to his first barbershop when he was about 5 years old. He still remembers how the 'Clubman smell' of aftershave, gel, and other hair products lingered heavily in the air. He recalls how terrifying it was to wait for a sharp-point of the finger, signaling he's next in line. Finally, it was time to sit in the tall classic style chair. The buzzing sounds of the clipper began to rang loudly between his ears. He sat in a new found confidence, silently asking "why are these kids much older & bigger than me crying so much?" Leaving with a smile, comb-over, and memory which forever influenced his long barbering journey.
When asked what he loves most about his career - without missing a beat Wilfredo responds "I find a sense of peace with every smiling face that leaves my chair...I enjoy listening and providing my aspect to questions asked in the shop...people of all ages have a story...you have to have the eyes to see and the ears to hear what's being said"
